the end

Hi everyone? How you guys doing?

I'm good, Cuma biasalah, busy a bit. Hahaha, Alasan yang paling selalu tak?

But it's true. Dah nak hujung tahun ni banyak betul benda listed in the schedule. Not to mentioned kenduri kahwin here and there, and some projects going on as well.

Last week my mom was here for few days, With nenek. One of my little cousin getting married last weekend. Not so little anymore, besar dah dia! Bila one by one family members kahwin, terasa sangat how time flies! But lepas ni maybe ada break lama sikit la before next one, sebab yang tinggal semua still study and kecil lagi.

Anyway, so bila my mom's here so banyaklah agenda nya. Bawa dia ke sana ke mari, which is me and husband don't mind at all. One thing, I suka betul kalau orang datang rumah, sebab I macam suka ramai-ramai and meriah. Now that she's back to hometown, so rumah rasa sunyi je. She will only come again in January for Afiq's wedding and oh maybe my little sister will be back for semester break also! Can't wait!

I tengah-tengah browse FB and look what I've found!

It was our very first roster! My fellow batchgirl in MH uploaded it! Hihi. Kalau ingat balik time dapat roster ni, rasa nervous gila!

Actually that was our SNY flight, maksudnya macam practical flight before we truly certified and graduated as Cabin Crew. Before that ada juga pergi 2 observation flights. Observation flights tu senang je, we just observe. But as for SNY flight ni, we must operate as a crew and were given position as well. And yes people, I kena served Business Class during this flight. Mine were bound for Bangkok (BKK).

Alhamdulillah, we all made it for SNY. Semua graduated on time. Honestly, this job isn't easy at all. Tak mudah, seriously. You need to be aware and prepare all the time. There's not a chance for you to slip a bit, because if there's an emergency, you are so responsible for all your passengers. So, be nice to your Cabin Crew/Flight Attendant.

Kalau nak reminisce balik all memories in MH, memang banyak. Well, I shall make a special entry for that later, okay?

Oh. We have come to an end for 2014. So how's your resolutions so far? Banyak yang achieved ke? If yes, that's good for you. If not pun tak apa, we can always bring it forward, don't we? Like we always did. Hahaha.

The husband said he has few open tickets left for this year, asking me where do I wanna go? Seriously I tak tahu. Kejap kang macam nak pergi sini, kejap nanti I change my mind to somewhere else. Told him to just decide, I am okay will all. Sebab AA routes mana je pun nak pergi kan?

So I wish all of you Happy 2015 in advance! In case my next post will be somewhere next year! And, Merry Christmas beautiful people with beautiful soul!

tips menjadi pramugari #2 (MALAYSIA AIRLINES FLIGHT STEWARD/ESS INTERVIEW)

Amin.

Hihi.

I tengah try to blog dari phone ni. Since rumah I seriously macam tongkang pechah, internet pun dah tak ada sebab erm, we are moving out? Yes. We are moving out.

Seeeeeeeeee.

Dah sampai London dah kita padahal nak cerita bout stages in Flight Attendant's interview je.

We shall start la ya?

Malaysia Airlines Flight Steward/ess Interview.

MIND YOU THIS WAS DURING MY TIME, BACK IN 2005. THERE'S MAYBE SLIGHTLY CHANGES IN TERM OF PROCEDURE NOW.

1st STAGE

- isi form, kepilkan gambar dan resume.
- ukur tinggi dan berat badan ( if lepas min requirement, then boleh proceed ya? If dari runah dah ukur rasa macam tak boleh lepas, perhaps masa depan you lebih cerah dalam bidang lain)
- selalunya candidates akan di beri number giliran
- 5 candidates sekali di panggil at one time, masuk dalam interview room. There's 3 interviewers duduk di depan candidates.
- this stage is only casual talk. Normally dia akan suruh you introduce yourself, so you cerita je lah apa-apa bout diri you, hobby you and family or education background.
- masa ini adalah sangat penting untuk you relax se relax yang mungkin, dont be so stressful, tak perlu nak formal sangat. If you nak add on some humor pun that's truly recommended.
- I ingat lagi masa ni the interviewer asked us to pilih antara 3, nak buat mana satu? Cerita sedih, cerite lawak or menyanyi. Cuba teka I buat apa? I nyanyi okay? Nyanyi! Thing that I never do actually. Lagu apa? Biarlah rahsia.
- settle this stage, diorang suruh you tunggu luar, and they will let you know siapa been selected for 2nd stage.

2nd STAGE

- this stage simple. Simple gila. All you need to do is to present yourself. They will ask you to catwalk around the room, check your hands, fingers, rambut, telinga (ada cuping ke tak), kaki you ada parut ke tak and your body hygiene. Serious.
- then you are require to write an essay. Yes, an essay people. Sebiji macam exam paper BI for SPM. Masing-masing akan dapat kertas soalan, dan startlah write the jawapan. As for me, I still remember my question was;

" What do you think about piracy in Malaysia?"

Krik. Krik.

Macamana tu?

- if everything is okay, there you go!

3rd STAGE

- yang ni paling crucial dan kritikal uolls! I tak tahu lah macam mana I managed to pass this.
- this stage dia panggil 5 candidates juga sekaligus, then interviewers ada 4 orang. Dari HR rasanya. They will ask you on current issue. Yang menang stock-stock baca surat khabar or nerd punya soalan. Hihihi. Kalau tanya pasal artist ke, gossip ke okay lah jugakan? Very the kacang!

Mine was;

" RIVER POLUTION, WHAT IS THE SOLUTIONS?"

River dia tanya I? River? Dia taktau ke I geografi pun failed. Hahahah.

Tapi sebab ada 5 orang kan? So its more like discussion. Selit-selit sikit je bila orang cakap. Ala-ala MUET gitu!

Last stage ni juga mereka akan beritahu sama ada you terpilih or tak. If yes, they will issue a letter untuk buat medical check up at one of their appointed clinic.

As for me myself, interviews on Thursday, check up on Monday, and 2 weeks later they called me to collect the appointment letter and agreements.

Tapi,

yes ada tapi.

I tak pergi pun masa first time they called me, after third time then baru I decided untuk pergi okay.

Kenapa?

You may ask.

I will tell you some other time, okay? Promise.

9 ways to say “Thank You” to your friendly Cabin Crew

Hi semua!
I'd like to share this article written by Mr. Azuan Zahdi.
I rasa article ni sangat bagus and sangat harmony. It will be great kalau semua orang yang naik flight practice all this.
Afterall, tak ada salahnya kalau kita berbaik dan bermanis muka bersama Flight Attendant/Cabin Crew. Hihi. Silap-silap dapat some souveniers and extra peanuts!
Anyway, thank you sir for writing this!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Flight attendants, cabin crew, stewards/stewardesses and air hostesses are some of the different terms use to describe the same basic role of the airline personnel that ensures the safety and comfort of airline passengers from boarding to disembark. While a career of a flight attendant might be seen as a glamorous life in the skies, it requires strong people skills and patience to deal with all kinds of passengers on a daily basis. Underneath those friendly smiles and elegant-looking uniforms are ordinary average Joe’s & Jane’s like you and me.
Here are some of my usual ways (not in any particular order) of showing appreciation to flight attendants on many of the flights that I took and hopefully made their task a bit easier:
***
1) “Hi…” and “Thank You”
SONY DSC
In my opinion the very least that a passenger should do is to say “thank you” or “have a good day” while exiting the plane. A nice “Hello…good morning” or “Assalamualaikum” during boarding would be nice as well. I have personally seen people just ignoring those “welcome onboard” greetings given by the crew during boarding as if the crew were not even standing right in front of them.
2) Listen and observe the flight safety demo
SONY DSC
I am quite a frequent traveller with local airlines and most of them still have the crew doing the flight safety demo manually. Show some respect and appreciation by listening and observing the crew. There is no harm in spending one minute refreshing about how to operate the safety life vest and the location of the nearest emergency exit etc. After all there is no better ‘excuse’ to just continuously look at the crew for a good one minute :)
3) My carry-on bag, my responsibility
SONY DSC
Through my observation I realised that it can be quite frustrating for cabin crew when passengers try and cram as much hand luggage in the overhead compartment as possible. I would usually take the effort to travel as light as possible with my small carry-on bag and would always put it on the overhead compartment myself. Follow the advice of the crew and whenever possible put those bags up there yourself. I think it is fair for the cabin crew to help passengers that have difficulties reaching the compartment but I have seen a bit too many times rude passengers just leave their luggage at the aisle and just signal the crew to “put it up there”. By the way let’s put those smaller plastic bags underneath the seat in front of us, ok?
4) Clear your own rubbish.
4
For some airlines it is the responsibility of the cabin crew to clean up the cabin in between flight sectors. Let us all be helpful and clear our own trash rather than stuffing it up in the seat pocket. Little things that make a lot of difference.
5) Switch off that phone.
SONY DSC
“Sir, swith off your phone please…”; “Sir, once again, please swith off your phone”, “Sir, for the last time, please switch off your phone and do not jeopardise the safety of other passengers” . I have heard this a few times. While this may not be a way to say “thank you” to the crew but not turning your phone off is an easy way to piss the cabin crew (and maybe your surrounding passengers). Help the crew by switching your phone off/flight mode the moment the aircraft is being pushed-back.
6) Go easy with the “crew call button”.
SONY DSC
There is nothing wrong with asking for additional drinks, peanuts or blankets but do it at the right time. During long haul flights especially when I am stuck in a middle seat, the crew call button has proven to be very important as I can have my drinks late at night without waking other passengers. What I don’t understand is seeing passengers (3 so far!) hitting the “crew call button” more than 3 times in a short domestic flight repetitively asking for the same things (peanuts, drinks). While you have every right to be served as a passenger, please be reminded that there are hundred other passengers that probably pay the same fare as you, so let us give the crew some time to serve everyone first before attending to you once again, ok?
7) Ask before you swap seats.
SONY DSC
Everyone wants to have empty seats next to them so they can take a two or three seat nap across the row especially during long hauls. It is normal to change seats but please wait until everyone has board the plane and the door have been closed before you make any move to secure those empty rows. It can get a bit messy when passengers start to swap seats while boarding is still commencing. I would usually ask the crew about the load factor during boarding and would only move towards the empty seats after checking with the crew if it’s ok to do so as some of the seats are reserved for crew rest.
8) In-flight meals tray – ready to be cleared.
8
After enjoying the delicious (or not!) in-flight meals, the least I can do is to make it easy for the crew to clear my tray. I guess this is similar to the concept of clearing your own tray after eating at fast food outlets.
9) Write a “Thank You” note.
9
I do this every time I observe something beyond expectation kind of service by the cabin crew. I have written feedback forms both in-flight and on-line and I would encourage more people to do it as well. A compliment letter/feedback form/email goes a long way in recognizing a good effort.
***
Cabin crews are there to serve us as paid passengers of the airlines. They are well trained to handle hundreds of passengers per day. Let us try to make the sky a bit friendlier by treating each other well. Have a safe and comfortable travel. Blue skies ahead.

cerita raya

Hi semua,

Nothing much on my raya. Semuanya okay-okay je. Sebab I only balik raya on pagi raya itself, hari Ahad tu. Lepas suami terchenta pulang dari kerja, siap-siap semua terus pecut balik kampung. Kampung dekat je you, 1 jam setengah from KL to Muar. Jalan clear se clear-clear nya!

Adik-adik I semua balik juga. Bobby balik on Saturday morning, Nini dah sampai earlier on Friday. Nini pun cuti raya sekejap ke, by Monday dah kena balik kolej. Anyway, masa bersama tu well spent. Puas hati lah dapat bergossip sakan dengan adik beradik dan Mommy. Hihihi, things that I always looking forward to.

Sekarang kan, walaupun cumalah seorang surirumah (chewah!), tapi I feel so blessed sebab I dapat spend most of the time dengan family, be there whenever they need me. Just imagine kalau I still fly, memang susahlah kot nak cuti time-time crucial macam ni. Flight Ops confirm call punya kalau I on standby. Tapi kan, I wasn't a good crew pun before. I tak boleh okay kalau pergi kerja hati tak senang. Banyaknya I MC je! Hehehe. Serious, few months before I left the airline, I memang dah tak ada hati nak kerja.

Bayangkan pergi kerja sambil nangis-nangis, make up sambil cebik-cebik muka. Macam mana tu? My back then boyfie now husband lah yang stress to calm me down everytime before flight. Hahah gila punya perangai. Mengada tak tentu hala!

I bersyukur sangat I decided to left the company, left the job and do my own things. I rasa ini adalah keputusan yang terbaik I pernah buat dalam hidup I. Kalaulah sekarang I dah kahwin and still flying, maybe lagi teruk mengada I tu. Kena seret pergi kerja agaknya. Tapi for those yang still flying, they have my respects. Pergi kerja, fly jauh-jauh, tak tentu balik dengan selamat (minta dijauhkan segala malapetaka dari mereka), tinggalkan orang yang tersayang dan anak-anak adalah pengorbanan yang sangat-sangat besar.

Therefore, kalau you all on board, be nice to them. Ada apa-apa tak puas hati, speak nicely. After all, diorang manusia juga, ada hati dan perasaan. Most of the time kita nampak diorang senyum, but deep down inside kita tak tahu apa dalam hati diorang. Tak salah kan kalau kita sesama manusia jaga hati sesama kita?

Selamat menyambut Aidil Adha semua!

P/S : Yes, sometime I rindu to fly again, I rindu the sensation and the feeling of take off dan landing, I rindu rasa turbulence di udara, I rindu semuanya being flight attendant. Tapi I guess rindu tu cumalah rindu.
